Tech gaint Google has now decided to give its new Gboard keyboard iOS app for iPhone and iPad devices before launching it for Android users. The newly launched Gboard keyboard iOS app lets you search for emojis and GIFs right from the keyboard without any need of a browser. With the help of Gboard, you can enter text via Glide typing.
By tapping on “G” icon, you can immediately search Google without exiting your keyboard and you can easily search for things like news articles, weather, flight times, restaurants, business listings, and much more directly from your keyboard and you can paste that information into your chat by a single tap.
Gboard keyboard iOS app is an important launch for Google as most of the internet users spend the majority of the time on their smart phones. According to eMarketer, mobile device users this year will spend 3 hours 15 minutes per day using apps versus just 51 minutes using the browser.
Rajan Patel, the head of the product team that developed Gboard says “We wanted to bring the best of Google to Gboard, so you’ll see Maps, Translate, image and video search, News and others,”. “Initially, Gboard will not surface any information specific to you,” he added.
The new app Gboard is available in English only and is a free to download on the iTunes App Store. More languages will arrive in the future, Google notes.
